About GRITS

Green and Resilient Infrastructure Technical Skills

For ages 15-18

GRITS is an extracurricular program created to provide high school students with hands-on training in STEM skills that are integral to coastal conservation. Each module taught throughout the program will focus on a new skill that is sought after in STEM careers. 

These modules include:

  • Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS-drone) operation
  • Watercraft operation
  • Navigation and mapping
  • Basic electrical systems & soldering
  • Nursery methods and planting techniques
  • Data analysis, interpretation, project design, and permitting
