Executive Committee
Members of this committee are decision makers of the management conference and are comprised of representatives from the 3 remaining advisory committees, funding sources, the state of Mississippi, and the university. These members will decide which action items will receive focused attention in the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan.
Engagement Committee
This committee is composed of representatives from various stakeholders throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. They represent local businesses, communities, educational institutions, conservation groups, and non-profit organizations. The goal of this committee is increasing engagement and education on matters related to the Mississippi Sound Watershed, and to assist in facilitating stewardship in our communities.
Civil Committee
This committee is composed of representatives from municipalities and counties throughout the Mississippi Sound Watershed as well as government officials and representatives from the ports. The goal of this committee is to address economic and infrastructure concerns as they relate to the conservation of the Mississippi Sound Watershed.
Science Committee:
This committee is composed of representatives from institutions of higher education, research initiatives, public works, NGOs, conservation groups, environmental consulting firms, environmental contractors, energy cooperatives, corporations, state, and federal agencies. The goal of this committee is to support unified management, conservation, and restoration efforts throughout the Mississippi Sound watershed. This committee will generate of action items for our Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan and the Comprehensive Management and Restoration Strategy.
