Resilience to Future Flooding
The Resilience to Future Flooding project focuses on addressing communication and financial barriers to sea-level rise resilience in the northern Gulf.

Understanding the breadth of information on sea-level rise and its related hazards is a significant challenge, especially for communities with limited time and resources. To reduce this barrier, a series of short films (around 5 minutes each) were developed covering the science of sea-level rise and case studies of how different Gulf Coast communities are increasing their resilience to sea-level rise hazards.

Local governments are the entities most likely to create successful sea-level rise resilience strategies and actions because they’re most in-tune to community needs, however they are also often resource-limited and undersourced. To reduce this barrier, this project supported local resilience projects focused on supporting communities throughout the north Gulf to increase resilience to sea-level rise, future flooding, and related hazards.
